Are they closer to a verdict or a stalemate?

Either seemed possible today as jurors at the racketeering trial of Philadelphia’s reputed mob leaders were poised to end a third week of deliberations without a decision.

For the 11th time in 12 days of talks, the panel asked to see exhibits or hear recordings that FBI informants and agents gathered during a decade-long investigation of alleged boss Joseph “Uncle Joe” Ligambi and his associates.

The jury of eight men and four women also ordered lunch and also asked if they might leave early to avoid the looming snowstorm – one sign they expected to return again next week. U.S. District Judge Eduardo Robreno offered them the option to leave at 2 p.m.
