Berlusconi sentenced in tax evasion case Oct 26th 2012, 21:31  Former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi  has been slapped with a mild sentenced by a Milan court to serve a meager year in prison for tax fraud connected to his Mediaset television channels. The  court sentenced Berlusconi  on Friday to four years but later  lowered  it to one due to an amnesty law made to  shorten the sentences of all crimes committed up to May 2006  Berlusconi  has been up to his neck  in  high-profile scandals that include alleged ties to the Sicilian mafia and paying prostitutes for sex.
